Wall Street Crack

For Those Addicted to the Wall Street Game

Book List

Like many other traders, I am on a continual quest to learn more.  It seems that to be truly successful in this business you have to constantly seek out more information.  You’re probably seeking out more info about the sector or industry that you are involved in, the company you are considering making an investment in, how a particular chart historically acts near the moving average you’re considering buying at.  You may also need to constantly change tactics on how you approach your trading for a particular market.  Breakout trades may work for a while but sooner or later that approach will likely not be the best method.  There are hundreds of books out there on different trading techniques, different markets and trading psychology.  Some may change your trading life and others will make you wish you hadn’t wasted a week of your precious time.

I received a Kindle 3 with Wi-Fi as a Christmas present and I really like reading on it.  Once in a while I still need to have the book in my hand but the Kindle is great for reading.  I didn’t feel the need to have the Kindle 3 with 3G and Wi-Fi as the Wi-Fi worked fine for me or the larger Kindle DX.

I am going to begin listing the books I have read and impressions of each.

  1. Reminiscences of a Stock Operator (Wiley Investment Classics)Edwin LeFevre – As I said in a previous post, this is probably one of the top books on most traders must read lists.
  2. Mastering the Trade: Proven Techniques for Profiting from Intraday and Swing Trading Setups (McGraw-Hill Traders Edge Series) John Carter
  1. How I Made $2,000,000 in the Stock Market Nicolas Darvas
  2. How to Trade In Stocks Jesse Livermore
  3. The Quants: How a New Breed of Math Whizzes Conquered Wall Street and Nearly Destroyed It Scott Patterson – Currently Reading
  4. You Can Be a Stock Market Genius: Uncover the Secret Hiding Places of Stock Market Profits Joel Greenblatt
  5. Trader Vic: Methods of a Wall Street Master Victor Sperandeo – Currently Reading
